Both tools run client-side. convertcsv ships more format pairs out of the box. PrivBatch ships a tighter UI, real batch mode, and a compliance certificate. Here is where each one wins.
convertcsv.com is one of the few tools in this category that has been doing real client-side processing for years - they say so on the homepage and the code backs it up. The format catalogue is wider than PrivBatch's: GeoJSON, KML, Fixed Width, Markdown, QR codes, plus SQL querying and data generation utilities. If you regularly hop between geo and tabular formats, that breadth matters.
It is also a single-author project funded by donations, which is the same model that produces some of the best small tools on the web.
The privacy claim is comparable. The differences are in the surrounding UX: PrivBatch has a unified dark UI across 23 tools, real batch mode for processing multiple files at once (Pro), keyboard shortcuts that match between tools, and a Pro Business tier that generates per-conversion compliance certificates - useful if you need to evidence that a data conversion happened locally.
PrivBatch also exposes a "Prove It" toggle that counts every network request the page makes while you work. convertcsv's privacy claim is in plain text on the page; PrivBatch lets you watch it live.

PrivBatch Tie Competitor
You need GeoJSON, KML, Markdown table output, QR code generation, or any of the long-tail format pairs PrivBatch does not cover yet. The author has built a serious catalogue and there is no reason to switch if it already covers your workflow.
You are doing repeated batch conversions, you want a single UI for CSV plus 20 other dev tasks, or you need an evidence trail (compliance certificate, audit log) showing a conversion stayed local. Also: if you prefer a dark UI that does not show ad-blocker prompts.
Try the privacy-first version with real batch mode.
